~ Forever Is Not Long Enough ~

The hours pass as the days go by…

Counted by each tear that falls from thy eye.

Every minute is painful, many sad torments…

For her return to thee, thy heart laments.

But soon our distance shall fade away…

Thy arms await her, and yearn for the day.

I’ve waited a lifetime to have her near and adore…

And by the grace of the Gods, she loves me once more.

If this be love, I never knew so much…

Her glance, her radiance…I fall weak from her touch…

I shall never be so strong, nor ever so frail…

Hold me tight, my love, from either side of the veil.

For the thought of losing you I cannot entertain…

Too harsh be the sadness, too great be the pain.

But let us not speak of what will certainly never be…

‘Tis only expressions of thy heart, spoken softly to thee.

I promise you this, etched in stone as I say…

That I shall hold you and love you, forever and a day.

For no matter the obstacle, stormy waters or rough…

Thy only regret is that forever is not long enough.
